Ulysses Hawthorne
Bio
Ulysses Hawthorne I was born in Macon Georgia to James and Magdalene Hawthorne and educated in the public schools of Bibb County graduating from Central High School. I received my B.S. Degree in Health and Physical Education from Savannah State College and Armstrong State College, and later received my master degree from Fielding University.
I began my professional career as a Deputy Sheriff with Chatham County Sheriff Department. Due to the impact my college professor, Dr. Ida Gadsden and high school football coach John Reynolds, had on my life, I decided to pursue my real passions; teaching and coaching. In October of 1988 I begin my Educational career in the Chatham School System as a teacher and coach. I have been married to Mrs. Gail Cooper-Hawthorne, who has been my number one fan 37 years. We are proud parents to Matthew, Whitley, Shelby and family pet toy poodle (Teddy)
I still believe that Education still has the number one proven track record for changing the lives and living condition of poor people in America.
My Motto-“Success is a by product of HARD WORK”
