greetings Kane family I am mr. Bellamy proud principal of Hardeeville Ridgeland middle school and I bring you greetings on behalf of dr. Anderson superintendent of schools the Board of Trustees Dr Marlin Westbrook let's just principal original Hardeeville high school and the administration Falcon team staff of Hardeeville Ridgeland Middle School this is our 8th grade virtual bridging ceremony this year our theme was moving for going together structure for excellence this has been the most unprecedented year however we are excited to celebrate our eighth-grade scholars in this unique way so join us doing this the ceremony as we celebrate the hardeeville-ridgeland Middle School class of 2021 and future jagnation class of 2025 our agenda is on the screen we have a number recitations that we will be privy to during this program as well as a presentation of our Scholars and a unique way we will also highlight Awards and special recognition and we will end with the OT and except Dubai Scholars the principal's award announcement and closing remarks join us for the national anthem thank you now we will have somebody to Ferguson with our welcome my parents family members doctor Anderson the administrative staff of a charm all Community stakeholders visitor and lastly hrms class of 2025 thank you for joining us today for the class of 2025 virtual bridging ceremony this has been an unprecedented school you're not just for our school Community but the entire world as soon as we have adjusted to the demands of learning online and in-person through a global pandemic Our Moment in history will show that we were resilient during the most perilous time do this try school year we have persevered to make it to this point I'll bridging ceremony today we take the next steps and moving toward our future will like to thank you all for joining us today to show your love and support as we celebrate this momentous occasion now we will have an inspirational reading by size Solace on children by Kahlil Gibran and a woman who held a baby against her but instead speak to us of children and he said your children are our guest speaker Miss Mary Holloman at this time it is my extreme pleasure to welcome is Mary Holloman she is a 2015 graduate of risen Hardeeville High School a 2019 graduate Smith University and a 2021 graduate of New York University she's also a proud member of the first black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated she walked the same hallways unsure of what's next at this time please join me in welcoming Miss Mary Holloman greetings to the class of 2025 at first would just like to say thank you all for having me at your virtual bridging ceremony I know this is not the what you want when you picture graduating from eighth grade and transitioning into high school so I first want to congratulate you and applaud you for getting through this journey during a pandemic I know it has been easy with all the time changes some of you may have lost family members had to take care of sick family members but you did it so you deserve to celebrate this is your day I remember walking the same hallways and I was and I heard what other people were saying when I told them I went to Hardeeville middle and high school which at the time is what it was named there like oh I feel so bad for you all the education is in good there you should go to a different school or private school or better school in Bluffton or Beaufort and I always said no I'm going to stay here Hardeeville is my home and I've carried that message me all throughout my did you make career to my bachelor's and Johnson C Smith University and my Master's at New York University that I recently completed a few weeks ago your home is a part of Who You Are also never let it go when you get to my age don't look back and say oh I wish I did things differently but take pride in what you have been given take pride of these amazing Educators and hold on to what their it's because of my teachers here that I was able to do so well when I matriculated into college I kept remembering what they told me that I am somebody that I am smart that I'm just as good is not better as my peers that were a little bit more privileged or had a little bit more money none of that matters when it comes to you everything you need is already inside of you When You Walk So when graduation day comes and you're sitting there thinking what's next what do I do now just know that even with all that and certainty you're destined to be great good luck we would like to thank Miss Holloman for sharing with our 8th grade Scholars and we to wish them the best of luck as they transition to high school next we will have our class poem by Kahlil Drake good morning my name is my name is Khalil and I'm here to read the poem If by Rudyard Kipling if you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming explaining it on you if you can trust yourself and almond dialed you make allowance for the doubting to if you can wait and not be tired by waiting or being lied about don't deal in lies or being hated don't get why they hating and yet don't look too good. if you can dream and not make dreams your master if you can think and not make thoughts your aim if you can meet with Triumph and disaster and treat those two Impostors just the same if you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken by knaves to make a trap for fools or watch the things you give your life to broken and stupid and build them up with one I'll choose if you can make one heap of all your winnings and risk it on one turn of pitch and toss and lose start again at your beginnings and never breathe a word about your loss if you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone and so hold on when there is nothing except the will which says to them hold on if you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue or walk was Kings nor lose the common touch if neither foolish nor loving friends can hurt you it's all men caught with you but not too much and you can feel the unforgiving minute forget the moments that got us to this point let us not forget to voyage and excitement of transitioning from Orange Pollos to Green to black as we're promoted each school let us not forget the hard work we put in throughout matching benchmark test moving up and hitting Target math MAP goals and achieving our desired grades at the end of course let us also not forget the teachers of how to get to the defining creative science projects the top of hooking a critical social studies license provided by Disneyland and it's just so I can show me where is mathematical Concepts stop at metros and his estate and and the foundation of comprehensive delivered by Miss Edwards Embassy Castle let us also not forget or connect teachers reading music and learning to play instruments and mrs. Randall's band class that I do creative thoughts and Leash and Mexicans are class coach Hawthorne's infectious energy during PE and shot glass dedicated the time to teach English coronavirus x-ray imparting life was in miles is well I'm here are you original Middle School is coming to a close we can confidently say that I'm here was spent well and we are ready to move on to the next phase already forming division of high school graduation in 2025 and what are guys who look like beyond that point so you busy for a while heading over to middle school thank you for the beautiful experiences we have had within your walls class of 2025 now is the time that I am excited about the HR ml the hrms 2021 again will transition to be the future jagnation of class of 2025 at this time we will do our presentation of our class of 2025 Scholars as a disclaimer please inclusion in this presentation does not guarantee promotion to the 9th grade there was some stipulations that are 8th grade teachers were to send out to our a great Scholars so that they can be included in this press patient again this is a unique way of celebrating all of our Scholars we will begin with Miss bickerstaff's homeroom hi mystical staff wishing you joy happiness and a prosperous future many of you asked me all year why do I take Science Why do I take science and you learn that Sia coming from the word science means knowledge and you did that you did your Hands-On experiments you went through the scientific method you and Brace face that's even though you didn't like it you live science wearing these masks and doing your social distancing you hypothesize that the mask work doesn't not work you did sign I'm hoping that you take with you everything that you learn the risk taking the try hard when you didn't want to the fighting my expectations of you and our team and team building and working with each other I hope you take that to high school and Beyond I love you I'm so proud of what you did remember that you are to have a notebook next year and Beyond because you know no books are going to help you organize because if you fail to plan you plan to fail at first you don't relishing the fact that there is no one else like you and that you are a unique individual in this world it will be your uniqueness that's apart from the crowd trust in the power that she possess Wells health class Destiny smart we want to give shout-outs and kudos to these students for being recognized as their teachers students of the year this year I have the opportunity to recognize one of our Scholars who has the five odds over come out stood tall in the face of adversity and remain Focus as best they could on attaining academic Excellence this year the student that I chose has been the epitome of resilience perseverance and I'm holding the mantle of hurricane Pride it gives me great joy and pleasure to recognize Miss Brianna west as this year's principal Awards recipient now we have Mister collar with the yielding of the scholars community members is my honor as the 8th grade assistant principal here Hardeeville Ridgeland Middle School I've had a fantastic time beating your children academically and socially emotionally and I am extremely proud to have the honor to you then ridgeland-hardeeville high school we know you'll do great your determination your integrity has been fantastic to watch you grow and this time I used you to the illustrious. The Westbrook to salute and I mean to excel are scallops thank you how is everything Middle School administration for sending us such fine Scholars class of 2025 as you transition from the Hurricane's path into the Jaguar then we say on behalf of Jasper County School District board members are superintendent we say we will come you you will serve as the epitome of our community as we prepare you as today's Learners to be tomorrow's leaders and exemplify College and Career ready citizens again welcome to Richland High School at this time we will have missed the bar with that final farewell to our 8th grade Scholars today it gives me great honor as your assistant principal of instruction to wish class of 2025 We Salute You and we congratulate you on a complicating the task of finishing Middle School best wishes to you on your journey to high school and best days be ahead of you hrms class of 2021 and future jagnation class of 25 as we close I want to share some words of encouragement and 2018 we began this hrms journey together and we will be moving forward together have a couple of stories and the first is from a preacher philosopher Soren Kierkegaard there was once a community of ducks and they live in the little duck town with that little duck grocery store the little duck Walmart the little duck nail salon that little duck Barber Shop they even have their own little duck church and every week these little ducks would gather and go to their little duck Church to listen to the little duck preacher they would say the little duck hands and pray that little duck prayers and then the little duck preacher would get in the Pulpit to preach to all the little ducks gather it will begin to preach we are ducks and we can fly and a little duck congregation will respond in chorus with amen and say and we can fly and a little duck preachers would preach even harder and louder Ducks God has given you wings you can fly These Wings you can rise up and soar like eagles no walls can can find you no fences can hold you you have wings and you can fly like birds we have wings with ducks and we can fly navigation will begin to Flap in clapping get excited and they would respond Amazon amen we are ducks and we can fly a little duck creature in full for vet and fire with sweat and strong voice switch out where ducks and we can fly and a little. Congregation will respond with the word ducks and we can fly and a little duck creature with clothes with a little duck prayer and then all the little ducks waddle back home you can say what you want repeat all the good things that you've heard and shout it to the top of your lungs but unless you believe really believe and act you will never fly it's time to act and believe believe and act to really believe in yourself and why you know and live life is feeling the message that has been interested in you by teachers and Educators you were not going to live ordinary meaningless lives you have been given gifts abilities unreal potential and passion to Live Extra ordinary lives secondly there's an old well-known story of a chicken farmer who found an eagle's egg he put it with the chicken and the egg hatch the young Eagle grew up with all the all the chickens and whatever they did the eagle did too he thought he was a chicken just like them since the chickens could only Fly for a short distance to Eagle also Learn to Fly for a short distance he thought that what he was supposed to do so that was all that he thought he could do as a consequence that was all he was able to do one day the eagle saw bird flying high he was very impressed who is that he has two hands around him that's the eagle the king of the birds the hens told them he belongs to the sky we belong to the Earth we are just chickens and died as a chicken but that's what he thought he was I want to encourage you again today that you are an eagle you may have been brought up in a situation that limited your understanding of your potential what is time now for the past to lose his hold on you don't. Thinking you're a chicken so I high just as you were meant to be all that you are meant to be choose today to be a chicken adult or an eagle and understand that it is your choice either way it's your time to fly always remember you are destined and purpose for greatness it how spend my esteem pleasure serving as your proud principal for the last 2 and 1/2 years and I know you will do well in your
