Hello! I am James R. Williams, and I am in my 5th year at HRMS. I have taught Mathematics at the 8th grade level, and I am currently teaching 6th grade Social Studies.  Prior to joining HRMS, I taught for 14 years at Bryan County Middle School in Pembroke, Georgia.  While there I also served as the school's Athletic Director, and I coached both Football and Baseball, serving as an assistant for both, then head coach for both.
I graduated from Georgia Southern University.  I have a Master's Degree in Middle Grades Education, with specialty fields in Social Studies and Mathematics.  I also have an Education Specialist Degree in School Leadership. I hold a  South Carolina teaching certificate in Middle Grades Education and in Education Leadership.
I am originally from Brooklet, Georgia, and currently live in Savannah, Georgia.  I am married to Mary Sanders Williams, a retired school teacher.  We have 2 adult children, both educators in Gwinnett County, Georgia.  Both are married, and we have 1 grandchild.
In addition to my regular work, I also served as Mayor of Brooklet for 5 years, and I served as an elected member of the Bulloch County Board of Education for 16 years, one of which I served as chairperson.
I enjoy working with young people and take great pleasure in seeing them develop into productive members of society.
