HRMS Data Chats and Conversations

HRMS Math and ELA teachers, along with support from Science and Social Studies teachers, conducted data chats and conversations with students prior to their Winter MAP Assessment to ensure that students understood the importance of the test and what information could be derived from the score. Students had the opportunity to look at their Student Profile in the NWEA system and self-identify a goal that would reflect how much they thought they had learned, to date. The purpose of the conferences are to increase data dialogue in our building and to move data conversations from being teacher-led to student-led. These conversations are the foundation for leading to student-led parent conferences in the Spring, and we are hoping that this is the spring board for students taking true ownership of their data and always giving their best, restoring the academic integrity of our building and the seriousness of testing.
