The Gift of Poetry was an event produced by Ms. Roberts for the holiday season. The purpose was to help students find a creative outlet and a positive and healthy expression of self and everyday life and to showcase where the birthing of the ever popular hip hop came from. The talents who came out were Marquice Williams and Joshua Davis of Spitfire Poetry Group and Moody Black of Making Words Move. Each artist has traveled the country and has been featured in several poetry slams of national magnitude.
