Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

The HRMS Connect team gave homage to Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th- October 15th) by holding three Hispanic Heritage Programs on Thursday, October 12, 2017.  Chorus students sang “Cielito Lindo” (Mexico), “Cumbia del Sol” (Colombia) and danced merengue (Dominican Republic) to “El Baile del Beeper”  by Oro Solido for each of their respective grade levels. Likewise, grade-level P.E. students read about famous Hispanic athletes and grade–level choral students read the poem “Los Pobres” by Roberto Sosa (Honduras) in both English and Spanish.

Advanced Band Students played “Mango Tango” (Argentina), Spanish 1 students read bios on Hispanic performers, and Ms. Hodges was accompanied by 7th grader Ariel Monge to demonstrate the Cha- Cha (Cuba) to  Carlos Santana’s “Oye Como Va” for all three performances.

The flyer for the event was create by 8th grade CATE students.
