HRMS celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a schoolwide assembly on Friday, January 24, 2020. During the 45-minute program, students, teachers, and administrators read poems and excerpts related to Dr. King and the civil right's movement. The HRMS chorus sang three songs and sixth graders presented a short dramatic play featuring Rosa Parks and other civil rights leaders. The printed program included a civil rights timeline and quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Everyone in attendance was uplifted by this informational and inspirational program.
