Ms. Lila Arnold, Founder and Director of Low Country Raptors, visited HRMS on Monday, January 13 to educate students about the birds of prey her organization rehabilitates and protects. All sixth graders attended the presentation in the school's Media Center, which included a visit by five owls that live at the group's wildlife sanctuary in Ruffin, SC. Low Country Raptors is part of a nationwide network of organizations with federal licenses to rehabilitate and shelter injured birds of prey. The group provides educational programs free-of-charge and funds its work through donations.
