HRMS Students Participate in Cultural Exchange with Jamaican School

Mrs. Biggerstaff's 3rd Block Social Studies class participated in a Skype interview with students from her previous school, Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls, located in Kingston, Jamaica. The participants found the experience interesting. They shared information about the cultures of both schools. The students talked about the activities done in the schools that engendered fun and excitement and which were a part of the school's culture such as Pep Rallies. They also shared about the school district's initiative to honor them for the academic growth shown on the school's report card.  

The students also learned about the culture of Jamaica, its food, music and dance.The participants learned that although they were miles apart, they shared similar experiences.
